What does a Sharjah family restaurant need from a POS?
Sharjah family restaurants need large tables, fast split checks, bookings for weekend groups and menus in Arabic and English. Because Sharjah does not allow alcohol, the drinks menu is juices, mocktails, tea and coffee, and the POS treats them like any other product with sizes and add-ons.
Weekend evenings bring big family groups. The floor plan lets you join tables, and the check can be split by seat, by item, by amount or evenly. Auto-gratuity is optional and can be set by party size if you use it.
Kids' meals, family platters and mixed grills are built as products with variations and modifiers, so the kitchen ticket shows exactly what each table ordered.
- Joined tables for big families
- Split checks in a few taps
- Drinks menus with sizes and add-ons
- Family platters as variations
How does VAT work on the bill in Sharjah?
Sharjah follows the same federal UAE VAT as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Menu prices are entered including 5% VAT, and the tax invoice shows the VAT amount and your TRN. The tax report gives VAT collected by day and location, ready for your return or your tax agent.
If you also have a branch in Dubai or Ajman, each location carries its own receipt layout, but the VAT setup works the same way. Central reports show all branches together.
If you add a service charge, set it as its own line on the bill. Your tax agent can confirm how each line should be treated.
- 5% VAT included in menu prices
- TRN on every tax invoice
- VAT report by day and location
- Same setup across emirates
Can my team work in Arabic and Urdu?
Yes. Arabic and Urdu are set up with right-to-left screens, and each user picks their own language. A Sharjah kitchen often mixes Arabic, Urdu, Hindi and Malayalam speakers, so the cashier, server and cook can each read the same order in the language they know best.
Product names can carry Arabic and English names, and other languages can be added through editable translations. Allergy flags print bold on the ticket in any language.
Receipts print Arabic and English labels with your logo, header and footer. Our menu build team can enter a bilingual menu for you when you switch.
- Arabic and Urdu right-to-left screens
- Language chosen per user
- Bilingual receipts
- Free menu import when you switch
Setup notes for Sharjah
What our onboarding desk checks first for restaurants here.
- Build your drinks menu around juices, mocktails, tea and coffee, with sizes and add-ons, since Sharjah does not permit alcohol.
- Set up joined-table layouts on the floor plan for weekend family groups before your first busy Friday evening.
- Add your TRN and bilingual labels to the receipt layout, and keep the same setup if you open a branch in another emirate.
- Many guests come from Dubai at the weekend; use the bookings calendar so large groups do not wait at the door.

Sharjah restaurant questions

Do I need to remove alcohol from the POS for Sharjah?
There is nothing to remove. The POS has no alcohol products unless you add them. You build your own menu, so a Sharjah restaurant simply sells juices, mocktails, tea and coffee as drinks.
Can I join tables for a family of fifteen?
Yes. Join tables on the floor plan and keep one check, or split it later by seat, item or amount. Auto-gratuity can be set by party size if you use it.
I have branches in Sharjah and Dubai. Is VAT set up differently?
No. UAE VAT is federal, so both branches use VAT-inclusive prices and print your TRN. Each location can have its own receipt layout and menu.
Can I take bookings for weekend family lunches?
Yes. The bookings calendar holds table, staff, start and end time, and can send an optional customer notification. Hosts see the bookings on the floor plan.
Can my Malayalam-speaking staff use the POS?
Yes, through editable custom translations. English, Arabic and Urdu are set up already, and labels can be translated for other languages your team reads. Each user picks their own language.
Can I run a reward programme for regular families?
Yes. Reward points and customer groups are built in. Regulars earn points on each visit and can redeem them on a later bill.
