How does the POS handle UAE VAT?
Menu prices are entered including 5% VAT, which is how UAE guests expect to see them. The POS works out the VAT inside each price and prints it on the tax invoice with your TRN. The tax report shows VAT collected by day and location, ready for your return.
If your business is VAT registered, your tax invoices need your Tax Registration Number and the VAT amount. You add the TRN once to the receipt layout for each location, and every invoice carries it from then on.
Inline tax means the guest pays the menu price and nothing is added at the end. If your venue also adds a service charge or another fee, set it as its own line so it is clear on the bill and in reports. Your tax agent or accountant should confirm how each line is treated.

Can my team use the POS in Arabic?
Yes. Arabic is set up with right-to-left screens, and each user picks their own language. A UAE kitchen often mixes Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi and Tagalog speakers, so the cashier, the server and the cook can each read the same order in the language they know best.
Receipts and tax invoices can carry Arabic and English labels, with your logo, header and footer set per location. Product names can hold both an Arabic and an English name so the guest and the kitchen read the same dish.
We set up English, Arabic and Urdu screens, and custom translations can be edited for other languages your staff use. Our menu build team can enter a bilingual menu for you when you switch.

How do card and Apple Pay payments work in the UAE?
Cards and Apple Pay run through your acquiring bank's terminal. Restaurant POS Studio records the payment on the check, but we do not process cards. You keep the agreement you have with your bank, and card data stays with your acquirer when you use an integrated terminal.
Most UAE guests pay by card or phone, though cash is still common in smaller restaurants and cafeterias. The POS lets one bill be paid with several methods, so a table can split between card, Apple Pay and cash without a second check.
The register report at close shows cash, card and wallet totals separately. That makes it easier to match the day's takings against your bank settlement.

Does it handle delivery orders and Ramadan hours?
Yes. Delivery orders can be entered as their own order type so they reach the kitchen screen and appear separately in reports. For Ramadan, you change opening hours, prepare iftar set menus as products, and take bookings for the rush at sunset with table and time on the calendar.
Delivery apps are a large part of restaurant sales in the UAE. You can track those orders in the POS as a separate order type so the kitchen sees them in the same queue and your reports show how much of the day came from delivery.
During Ramadan many restaurants serve almost every table at once at iftar. Set menus fired in courses and bookings by time slot help the kitchen pace that moment instead of being buried by it.

Can the POS print a proper UAE tax invoice?
POS Studio
Yes. The invoice layout can show your business name, TRN, the date, the VAT amount and the total including VAT. You set it once per location. Ask your tax agent to review the layout before your first VAT period on the new system.
Do I enter prices with or without VAT?
POS Studio
With VAT. In the UAE the menu price is the price the guest pays, so you enter AED prices including 5% VAT. The POS calculates the VAT portion inside each price for the invoice and the tax report.
Can I talk to you on WhatsApp?
POS Studio
Yes. WhatsApp is our first channel for UAE restaurants, followed by phone and email. You can send a photo of your menu there and we will tell you how long the import will take. Demos can also be booked outside your service hours.
Will it work for a restaurant with no alcohol licence?
POS Studio
Yes. There is nothing in the POS that assumes alcohol. You only add the products you sell. Many UAE restaurants run with juices, mocktails, tea and coffee as their drinks menu, and those work like any other product.
Can I show the same menu in Arabic and English on the QR menu?
POS Studio
Yes. Product names and descriptions can carry translations, and the QR contactless menu and online store come from the same products. When you change a price at the POS, the online menu changes too.
Does it work on the Saturday–Sunday weekend?
POS Studio
Yes. Reports and the bookings calendar follow your own dates, so the busy Friday evening and weekend services show up the way you run them. You can compare any day or date range in the sales report.
Can staff from different countries each use their own language?
POS Studio
Yes. Language is set per user. A cashier can work in Arabic, a server in English and a cook in Urdu on the same order. Hindi and Tagalog can be added through editable custom translations.
What tablets can I use?
POS Studio
Any iPad, Android tablet or PC with a modern browser. There is nothing to install, and a mobile app is also available. Bring the tablets you have, or buy them locally from any electronics store.
