How does a multi-currency restaurant POS work?

Each business in the system is set to one currency, and every price, receipt and report uses it. A group with a restaurant in Houston and another in Dubai runs two businesses, one in dollars and one in dirhams. Each has its own tax rates, receipts and language settings.

You do not convert prices on the fly. Menus are priced in the money the guest pays with. That keeps receipts, tax reports and cash counts clean for your accountant in each country. Currency formats follow local habits. Dollars and dirhams show two decimals. Rupees are usually shown as whole numbers. You can adjust separators and decimals in the business settings.

Owners with locations in more than one country can still see each business from one login, and export reports from each. This also keeps cash handling simple. Drawers are counted in one currency per location, and end-of-day reports match what is in the till. Your accountant in each country sees reports in the money they file in, with no conversion step to check.

  • One currency per business
  • Local symbols and number formats
  • Clean tax reports per country
  • One login for several businesses

Does it handle UAE VAT and tax invoices?

Yes. Set a 5% VAT rate with tax-included pricing, so the menu shows the price the guest pays. Your Tax Registration Number (TRN) prints on tax invoices, and receipts can show Arabic and English side by side. Your accountant should confirm the invoice details you need for your business.

UAE guests expect the price on the menu to be the final price. Inline tax does that: the VAT is inside the price, and the receipt shows how much of it is tax. Receipts are set per location. Add your trade name, TRN, address and a footer in Arabic and English. Arabic prints right to left.

Reports show sales and VAT collected for each period, ready to hand to whoever files your returns. You can also print an English-only receipt for guests who ask, while keeping Arabic and English as the default. Each location can have its own layout, so a Dubai branch and a Sharjah branch can show their own trade names and addresses.

  • 5% VAT, tax-included prices
  • TRN on tax invoices
  • Arabic and English receipts
  • VAT totals in reports

How do I set sales tax in the US and Pakistan?

In the US, sales tax depends on your state, county and city, so you add each rate and combine them in a tax group for each location. In Pakistan, sales tax on restaurant services is set by your province. Set the rate your province requires, and ask your tax adviser to confirm it.

A US restaurant might charge a state rate plus a city rate. Add both as tax rates, group them, and attach the group to your menu items. A second location in another city gets its own group. Pakistan's provinces, including Punjab, Sindh and Islamabad Capital Territory, each have their own rules for restaurant services, and some vary rates by how the guest pays. Rules change, so check with your adviser before you open.

Prepared food, alcohol and packaged goods can be taxed differently. Use separate tax groups for each type. When a rate changes, edit it once in tax settings. New sales use the new rate right away, and past sales keep the rate they were rung with, so your old tax reports stay correct.

  • Tax rates combined into tax groups
  • Different groups per location
  • Separate groups for different item types
  • Confirm local rates with your adviser

Can my staff use the POS in their own language?

Yes. Each staff member chooses their own interface language, so a Spanish-speaking server and a Korean-speaking cook can use the same system. We set up English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Arabic and Urdu. Arabic and Urdu show right to left, and you can edit any translation.

The language belongs to the user, not to the tablet. When a server logs in with a PIN, the screen switches to their language. The next person sees theirs. Receipts are set separately for guests. A Dubai restaurant can run English screens for the floor and print Arabic and English receipts.

If a word does not fit your kitchen, change it. Custom translations let you rename buttons and labels to the words your team actually uses. This matters most in the kitchen. When a cook reads the ticket in their own language, fewer sides are wrong and fewer allergy notes are missed. Managers can still switch to English for reports and settings whenever they want.

  • Seven languages set up
  • Language chosen per user
  • Right-to-left Arabic and Urdu
  • Edit any translation

Can one owner run restaurants in the US and the UAE on one account?
POS Studio

Yes. Each restaurant is set up as its own business with its own currency and tax rules. You switch between them from one login. Reports stay separate, which is what your accountants in each country need.

Do UAE receipts show the price including VAT?
POS Studio

Yes, when you choose inline tax. The menu price includes 5% VAT and the receipt shows the VAT amount inside it. Your TRN prints on the tax invoice.

What sales tax rate should I set in Punjab or Sindh?
POS Studio

Set the rate your province requires for restaurant services. Provincial rates and rules change and can depend on how the guest pays, so confirm the current rate with your tax adviser before you open. You can change the rate in settings at any time.

Can receipts print in Arabic or Urdu?
POS Studio

Yes. Receipt layouts are set per location and can include Arabic or Urdu labels printed right to left, alongside English. Your printer needs to support the fonts, which we check with you on the demo.

Does the POS work with JazzCash and Easypaisa?
POS Studio

It works with JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer as payment methods on the check. You record the payment type at the POS. The money moves through those providers, not through us.

Which payment methods work in the UAE?
POS Studio

Cards and Apple Pay work through your acquiring bank's terminal, and cash is recorded at the POS. We do not process cards ourselves. Your acquirer sets the card fees.

Can I show prices with and without tax in different locations?
POS Studio

Yes. Tax-included or tax-added is set per business and its tax rates. A US location can add tax on the check while a Dubai location shows tax-included prices.

Is there e-invoicing support for Saudi Arabia?
POS Studio

An add-on for ZATCA e-invoicing is available if you expand into Saudi Arabia. It is not part of the standard plans. Ask on your demo and we will explain what it covers.

How are dates shown on reports in Pakistan and the UAE?
POS Studio

Set the date format to DD/MM/YYYY in business settings, which matches local habits. US businesses usually use MM/DD/YYYY. The format applies to receipts, reports and screens.

Do you support restaurants outside these three countries?
POS Studio

We sell and support in the United States, the UAE and Pakistan today. The software handles other currencies and languages, but our team, payments knowledge and tax guidance focus on these three markets.
