How does the POS handle sales tax in Pakistan?
You set the sales tax rate that applies to your restaurant for each location, and the POS adds it to the bill. Restaurant services are taxed by the province, so a Karachi branch and a Lahore branch may need different rates. Islamabad's sales tax on services is federal, under FBR.
In Sindh the provincial authority is the Sindh Revenue Board, and in Punjab it is the Punjab Revenue Authority. Rates can differ by payment method and change with budgets, so confirm the current rate with your tax advisor and update it in Settings when it changes.
Each location keeps its own rate and receipt layout, including your tax number. If your restaurant must report invoices to a tax authority system, ask us before you switch so we can confirm how it will work for your branch.

Which payment methods does it work with?
Restaurant POS Studio works with cards through your bank, JazzCash, Easypaisa, bank transfer including Raast, and cash. The POS records each payment on the bill. We do not process payments ourselves, so you keep your own bank and wallet accounts, and card data stays with your bank's terminal.
Pakistani diners pay in many ways, often on the same table. A family can split one bill between cash, a card and a JazzCash transfer, and the POS keeps all three on one check.
At close, the register report shows each payment method separately. That makes it simple to match cash in the drawer and wallet transfers against your bank statement.

What happens during load-shedding?
The POS runs in a browser and keeps your data on our servers, so a power cut at the restaurant does not lose orders already saved. Put your internet router and receipt printer on a UPS, and keep a mobile data connection ready as a backup so tablets stay online.
Load-shedding is part of running a restaurant in many Pakistani cities. Tablets and laptops have their own batteries, so the weak points are usually the router and the printer. A small UPS on those two keeps service going through most outages.
A phone hotspot or a second internet connection from a different provider gives you a fallback if the line goes down. Data is backed up daily on our servers, and you can export sales, products and customers to a spreadsheet at any time.

Can my staff use it in Urdu?
Yes. Urdu is set up with right-to-left screens, and each user picks their own language. A cashier can work in English while the kitchen reads tickets in Urdu. Product names can carry Urdu and English names so the waiter, the cook and the guest all read the same dish.
Many kitchen teams in Pakistan read Urdu more easily than English, and some speak Punjabi or Sindhi at home. Custom translations can be edited, so you can change any label to the words your team uses.
Receipts can carry Urdu and English labels with your logo, header and footer. Our menu build team can enter an Urdu menu for you, with modifiers like spice level and half or full portions.

Do your prices include sales tax?
POS Studio
No, our plan prices are shown plus applicable sales tax. The same idea works inside the POS: your menu prices can be entered before tax and the POS adds the provincial or federal rate on the bill. You choose the setup per location.
Can I accept JazzCash and Easypaisa?
POS Studio
Yes, the POS works with JazzCash and Easypaisa as payment methods. The guest pays through your wallet account and the cashier records it on the bill. Your register report then shows wallet totals next to cash and cards.
I have branches in Karachi and Lahore. Can each have its own tax rate?
POS Studio
Yes. Each location has its own tax rate, receipt layout and tax number. A Karachi branch can follow Sindh rules while a Lahore branch follows Punjab rules. Central reports still show all branches together.
Will the POS stop working during a power cut?
POS Studio
Not if your internet stays up. Tablets run on battery, and with a UPS on the router and printer you can keep taking orders. Orders already saved are kept on our servers, not on the tablet.
Can I talk to someone on WhatsApp in Urdu?
POS Studio
Yes. WhatsApp is our first channel in Pakistan, followed by phone. You can send a photo of your menu and ask questions in Urdu or English. Demos can be booked after service if that suits you better.
Can I sell karahi by the kilo?
POS Studio
Yes. Products can be sold by weight, by half and full portion, or as fixed plates. A scale can be used at the counter for items sold by weight. Modifiers like spice level and extra bread print on the kitchen ticket.
Does it work on cheap Android tablets?
POS Studio
Yes, if the tablet runs a modern browser. There is nothing to install, and a mobile app is also available. For a busy floor, choose tablets with enough memory to keep the browser fast through the night.
Can I export my data if I leave?
POS Studio
Yes. You can export products, customers and sales to a spreadsheet at any time. After cancellation your account stays readable for 30 days so you can take everything with you.
