How does the POS work for Korean BBQ?
Each table gets a service timer from the moment the grill is lit, so servers see how long a party has been seated. All-you-can-eat sets can be priced per person, and extra meat, side dishes and drinks are ordered from the tablet at the table and fired straight to the kitchen.
Korean BBQ in Koreatown runs on fast table turns and many small orders per table. The floor plan shows which tables are open, eating or waiting to pay, so the host can seat the line faster.
Korean screens are set up for the team, and meat cuts can carry Korean and English names. Auto-gratuity for large groups is set by party size, and tips can be pooled across servers who share a section of grills.
- Service timer per table
- Per-person set pricing
- Add-on orders fired from the table
- Korean and English product names
Can a Mexican kitchen in LA run in Spanish?
Yes. Cooks can set their screens and tickets to Spanish while servers work in English. Combo plates use forced modifiers for rice, beans and tortillas, and salsas or extras become priced add-ons. The line reads exactly what was ordered without anyone translating at the pass.
Many Los Angeles kitchens speak Spanish whatever the cuisine on the menu. Language is chosen per user, so a Korean, Chinese or American restaurant can also give its line Spanish tickets.
Family tables split checks often. The POS splits by seat, by item, by amount or evenly, and takes several cards and cash on the same check.
- Spanish tickets for the line
- Forced modifiers for combo plates
- Split by seat, item or amount
- Several payment methods per check
How is sales tax set up for Los Angeles?
Enter your combined sales tax rate for the location, which includes the California state rate plus county and district taxes at your address. Rates can differ between cities in Los Angeles County, so check yours with the California tax authority or your accountant, then set it once per location.
A restaurant in the city of Los Angeles and a branch in the San Gabriel Valley may not share the same rate. Each location in Restaurant POS Studio carries its own rate or tax group.
Menu prices stay tax-exclusive and the receipt shows tax as its own line. The tax report gives taxable sales and tax collected by day and location.
- Combined rate per location
- Separate rates for each city
- Tax shown as its own receipt line
- Tax report ready for filing

What our onboarding desk checks first for restaurants here.
- California has its own tip and wage rules; confirm your tip pool design with a payroll advisor before the first payout.
- For Korean BBQ, add a table timer warning time that matches your seating limit, and train hosts to read the floor plan.
- Build Chinese and Taiwanese menus with both Chinese and English names so the dining room and the kitchen read the same dish.
- If you have a branch in Orange County, give it its own location with its own tax rate and receipt layout.

Los Angeles restaurant questions
Onboarding desk · usually replies within a business day
Can servers order from a tablet at the grill table?
Yes. Restaurant POS Studio runs in a browser on iPads and Android tablets. A server can add meat and sides at the table and fire them to the kitchen. Each order is tied to that server for tips and reports.
My restaurant in Monterey Park and my branch in Koreatown have different tax rates. Is that a problem?
No. Each location has its own tax rate or tax group. Set each one from its own address. Reports show each branch separately or all together.
Can I use Chinese screens for the kitchen and English for the floor?
Yes. Language is set per user. The kitchen can read Chinese, the floor English, and the owner can review reports in either. Product names can carry both.
Does it work for a taco shop with a counter and a few tables?
Yes. The Counter plan covers one register, tables, modifiers and a kitchen screen. Orders can be rung in at the counter or at a table. The online store is built from the same menu for pickup orders.
Can I pool tips between servers and bussers in California?
The POS can pool tips by role points or hours. Whether bussers can join and how much they get depends on state rules and your payroll setup. Check with a payroll advisor, then set the pool to match.
Can I keep my current card processor?
Yes. Restaurant POS Studio works with your card processor and we charge no PCI or statement fees. Card data stays with your processor when you use an integrated terminal.
