Start your free trial and set up your restaurant business: name, currency, time zone, financial year and logo. Takes about 10 minutes.
About 10 minutes · updated
- 1Start the free trial Open the app and press Start free trial. Enter your name, a login and a password.
- 2Name the business Type the restaurant name exactly as you want it on receipts and the online store.
- 3Pick the currency Choose the currency you take payment in, for example US dollars, UAE dirhams or Pakistani rupees.
- 4Set the time zone Choose the time zone of the restaurant so reports close on your local day.
- 5Set the financial year Choose the month your financial year starts. Your accountant can confirm this.
- 6Upload your logo Add a square logo file. It appears on the POS screen, receipts and the online store.
What you’ll do: You will open your Restaurant POS Studio account and create the business record that everything else hangs on. When you finish, you are ready to add your first location and take a test order the same afternoon.
Before you start
- Have the restaurant’s legal or trading name ready, spelled the way guests should see it.
- Know your currency and the month your financial year starts.
- Find your logo file (PNG or JPG). A square version works best.
- Use a laptop, PC or tablet with a current browser. Nothing needs installing.
Steps
- Start the free trial. Open the app and press Start free trial. Enter your name, a login and a password. Write the login down; the owner account has full access to Settings.
- Name the business. Type the restaurant name exactly as it should print on receipts and show on the online store. You can add a different name per location later if each branch has its own sign.
- Pick the currency. Choose the currency you take payment in. Each business has one currency. Prices, tips, taxes and every report use it.
- United States: US dollar.
- UAE: UAE dirham.
- Pakistan: Pakistani rupee.
- Set the time zone. Choose the time zone of the restaurant. This decides when the business day ends, so your daily sales report matches the night you actually worked.
- Set the financial year. Choose the month your financial year starts. Reports that run “this financial year” use this date. Ask your accountant if you are not sure.
- Upload your logo. Add your logo file. It shows on the POS screen, on printed receipts and on your online store. You can replace it at any time in Settings.
When you save, the app opens your new business. The next job is to add a location, registers and a receipt layout.
Tips from the onboarding team
- Do the setup in order. Business first, then location, then tables, staff and menu. Each step uses the one before it. The getting-started articles follow this order.
- Use the owner login only for setup. Give every staff member their own login or PIN later. Shared logins make tip and sales reports wrong.
- Check number and date formats now. You can choose how numbers and dates display in Settings. Pick the format your team reads every day, for example day/month/year in the UAE and Pakistan.
- Plan a test order today. Add five or six menu items first, not the full menu. Take a test order, print a receipt, then import the rest.
- Running restaurants in more than one country? Read selling in the US, UAE and Pakistan before you create a second business.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The sign-up screen will not accept my login | The login may already be in use. Try a different one, or reset the password if you signed up before. |
| Receipts show the wrong currency symbol | Check the business currency in Settings. If you already took real orders, contact support before changing it. |
| The daily report closes in the middle of service | The time zone is wrong. Change it in Settings to the restaurant’s city. |
| My logo looks blurry or cut off | Upload a larger, square image with a plain background. |
| I cannot find Settings | Settings shows only for users with owner or admin rights. Log in with the owner account. |

Questions about this step
Onboarding desk · usually replies within a business day
Do I need a credit card to start the trial?
The trial starts from the Start free trial button. Follow the sign-up screen; it shows exactly what is asked for before you continue.
Can I change the currency later?
Set it right the first time. Currency drives prices, reports and receipts, so changing it after you take orders makes old reports hard to read. If you must change it, do it before your first real service.
I own two restaurants. Do I create two businesses?
Usually no. One business can hold several locations, each with its own registers, tables and receipt layout. Create a second business only if the restaurants use different currencies or separate books.
Which time zone do I pick if I am in Dubai or Lahore?
Pick the time zone of the city where the restaurant operates. Dubai and Abu Dhabi use Gulf Standard Time; Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad use Pakistan Standard Time.
What size should the logo be?
A square image, at least a few hundred pixels wide, with a plain or transparent background. Receipt printers print it in black and white, so a simple mark works best.
