Change the screen language for each staff member
Each staff member picks their own screen language in My Profile. Arabic and Urdu show right to left. Ask for Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese packs.

- 1List your team's languages Ask each staff member which language they read best on a screen.
- 2Request extra language packs Tell the onboarding team during setup if you need Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese or Urdu, or custom translations.
- 3Open My Profile Each staff member logs in with their own account and opens My Profile.
- 4Pick the language Choose the interface language from the list and save.
- 5Check the screens Open the POS screen or kitchen screen and check the buttons and labels show in the new language.
What you’ll do: You will let each staff member choose the language their screen shows. A server, a cook and a manager can each work in a different language on the same shift.
Before you start
- Every person needs their own login. See add staff, roles and PINs.
- Know which languages your team reads. Ask them; do not guess.
- If you need Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese or Urdu, tell the onboarding team during setup.
Steps
- List your team’s languages. Ask each person which language they read fastest on a screen. A cook who reads Vietnamese in a rush should see the kitchen screen in Vietnamese.
- Request extra language packs. During setup, we load Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese and Urdu packs on request. Owners can also ask for custom translations, for example a kitchen word your team uses. Ask before your first service so the packs are ready.
- Open My Profile. Each staff member logs in with their own account and opens My Profile. A manager can help on day one.
- Pick the language. Choose the interface language from the list and save. The change applies only to that user. Everyone else keeps their own language.
- Check the screens. Open the screen that person uses most, the POS screen or the kitchen screen. Check buttons, labels and order details read correctly. Arabic and Urdu show right to left.
Tips from the onboarding team
- Set language on the first day. New staff learn faster when the screen speaks their language from the start.
- Menu names stay as typed. The language setting changes the app, not your menu. For a mixed team, use dish names everyone knows, or add the second language in the item name.
- Receipts are separate. Guests see the language labels on the receipt layout. See taxes, currency and receipts.
- Check a shared tablet. On a shared kitchen tablet, the language follows whoever is logged in.
- Train in the same language. Walk each new person through the POS screen or kitchen screen after they switch, so they learn where each button sits in their own language.
- Right-to-left on small screens. Hold a tablet in landscape for Arabic and Urdu so long labels fit.
- Read more on our languages page.
If something goes wrong
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| My language is not in the list | The pack is not loaded yet. Ask the onboarding team to add it. |
| The language changed back | Someone else logged in on the same device. Each user’s language follows their own login. |
| Some words are still in English | Those labels are not yet translated in the pack. Ask for a custom translation. |
| Arabic or Urdu layout looks wrong | Refresh the page after saving, and use a current browser. |
| Menu items are in the wrong language | Item names are not translated by the setting. Edit the product names. |
